Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters

You're trusting us with sensitive information at a vulnerable time. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

Effective May 21, 2026.

Who we are

Ever Lasting Sobriety operates structured sober-living residences for men in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. In this policy, "Ever Lasting Sobriety," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Ever Lasting Sobriety and its operators. "You" means anyone who uses our website, submits an application, or becomes a resident.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, plus a small amount of technical data automatically.

Application & intake information

When you apply for admission — or when a case manager applies on your behalf — we collect the information you provide on the application, which may include:

  • Identity and contact details (name, date of birth, phone, email, address)
  • Emergency contact and sponsor information
  • Substance-use history and sobriety information
  • Medical conditions, medications, and related health information
  • Criminal, parole, or probation history where you choose to disclose it
  • Case manager or referral-source details
  • Any other information you include in your responses

Much of this is sensitive. We ask for it only because it's necessary to assess fit, keep the community safe, and support your recovery.

Resident & account information

If you become a resident, we maintain records related to your stay — for example daily check-ins, drug-test results, pass requests, house-meeting attendance, charges, invoices, and payments — and the credentials for your resident portal account.

Payment information

Online card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers; Stripe handles card data under its own security standards. We retain records of payment amounts, dates, and status.

Technical information

Like most websites, we automatically receive limited technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages visited — used to operate the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure. We record the IP address an application is submitted from.

How we use your information

  • Review applications and determine eligibility for admission
  • Operate the residence, manage your stay, and support your recovery
  • Communicate with you (and, where applicable, your case manager or sponsor)
  • Process rent and fees and maintain billing records
  • Maintain the safety and integrity of the community
  • Comply with legal obligations and the standards of MASH (Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing)

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

  • Service providers who help us run the program, under contract and only as needed — including our cloud hosting provider (Amazon Web Services), our content-delivery and security provider (Cloudflare), our payment processor (Stripe), and, if you opt in, SMS and email delivery providers. Our address field uses an OpenStreetMap-based lookup (Photon) to suggest addresses as you type.
  • With your consent — for example, if you ask us to coordinate with your case manager, treatment provider, or family member.
  • For safety — to protect the health or safety of you, other residents, staff, or the public.
  • When required by law — in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation.

Confidentiality of recovery records

We treat your substance-use and recovery information as confidential and handle it consistent with applicable federal and state privacy laws, including the federal confidentiality rules for substance-use-disorder records (42 CFR Part 2) where they apply. We do not confirm or deny your status as a resident or applicant to third parties without your written authorization, except where the law requires or permits disclosure.

How we protect your information

Your data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. Resident records are restricted to staff with a need to access them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information.

How long we keep it

We keep application and resident records for as long as needed to operate the program, meet our legal and certification obligations, and resolve disputes. We may retain certain records after your stay ends as required by law or program standards. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.

Your choices and rights

  • You can request to review the personal information we hold about you.
  • You can ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • You can withdraw an application before a decision is made.
  • You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. Some records we are legally required to keep cannot be deleted on request.

Children

Ever Lasting Sobriety serves adults only. Our website and program are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Third-party links

Our site may link to other websites (for example, MASH or recovery resources). We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of sites we don't operate. Review their policies separately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Effective" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
